The Concarneau Marine Station is the oldest station in the world still in activity. This centre dedicated to research on the marine environment, teaching, expertise, dissemination of knowledge and collections is among the 12 sites of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle.
Raising environmental awareness and saving the planet are at the heart of contemporary debate. The Muséum is fully committed to these issues, and plays a pivotal role through the variety of tasks it fulfils: pure and applied research, conserving and enhancing its collections, teaching, expertise and knowledge sharing.
